Web3 Investment Firm Borderless Capital Acquires CTF Capital to Enhance AI and Quantitative Trading Capabilities
Borderless Capital, a Web3-focused investment firm, recently announced its acquisition of CTF Capital, a Miami-based quantitative trading and asset management firm with teams in Latin America. Borderless Capital’s first acquisition since its establishment in 2018 aims to enhance its expertise in AI-driven quantitative trading. As part of the deal, Borderless Capital plans to expand its operations to Argentina, a key technology innovation hub in Latin America.
CTF Capital has developed trading models that utilize artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) strategies, including automated market making (AMM) and maximal extractable value (MEV) strategies. These capabilities are essential in the fast-paced Web3 environment, where the ability to trade quickly can significantly impact investment outcomes.
Following the acquisition, Borderless Capital’s assets under management (AUM) will exceed $500 million, including CTF Capital’s funds into Borderless’s Multi-Strategy Fund V LP. This fund, launched last year, focuses on generating risk-adjusted maximum returns for investors in both liquid and soon-to-be liquid digital assets.
The entire CTF team, comprising 11 staff members and two partners, has joined Borderless Capital, expanding its total workforce to nearly 40 employees. David Garcia, co-founder and managing partner of Borderless Capital, highlighted the technological advancements made by CTF Capital in AI and ML-powered blockchain investments and their participation in MEV markets.
The acquisition also brings a new set of limited partners (LPs) from Latin America to Borderless, strengthening its position in the region and creating new opportunities. Borderless Capital already has significant investments in Latin America, and opening a local office in Argentina will enable the firm to provide more personalized and direct services to its investors and clients in the area.
Borderless Capital’s portfolio includes companies like Securitize, Wormhole, Blockdaemon, and Helium Network, which are involved in various aspects of blockchain infrastructure and decentralized networks.
